Data controller
The controller of the personal data collected through this website (danidev.cl) is Daniel Moraga, an independent web developer based in Santiago, Chile.
For any question or request regarding your personal data, you can write to d.moraga.tenorio@gmail.com. This is the site's only contact channel.
Scope of this policy
This policy applies only to the danidev.cl website, a professional portfolio for informational purposes. The site does not offer user registration, accounts, private areas, payment processing or subscriptions.
Third-party projects shown in the portfolio section and links to social networks (GitHub, LinkedIn, Instagram) lead to independent websites with their own privacy policies. This policy does not cover what happens on them.
What data I collect
Contact form data. When you fill out the form, I receive by email the information you entered: your name, email address, project type (chosen from a list), estimated budget range (optional), desired timeline (optional) and the content of your message. All of it is provided voluntarily by you. Your name, email, project type and message are required so I can reply to you; the budget and timeline only help me better understand your request, and you may leave them blank.
Technical submission data. To prevent automated submissions and abuse, the server temporarily processes the IP address from which the form is submitted, solely to limit the number of submissions within a short period. That IP address is kept in memory for a few minutes; it is not stored permanently or linked to the content of your message. The form also includes a hidden field that only bots fill in; it contains none of your data.
Analytics data (optional). If you accept analytics cookies, aggregated browsing data (pages visited, device type, approximate location) is collected through Google Analytics, with the IP address anonymized. An anonymous event is also recorded when the form is submitted successfully, without including your name, email or the content of your message. If you reject cookies, none of this happens.
What I don't collect. I don't ask for your national ID number (RUT), phone number, postal address, banking details or any information beyond what you enter in the form. Nor do I build profiles about you or cross-reference your information with other sources.
How I use your data
Contact form data is used for a single purpose: to read your message and reply to you and, if you so request, to carry on the conversation needed to assess or coordinate a potential project.
Analytics data, when you authorize it, is used only in aggregate to understand which sections of the site are useful and to improve its content. It does not allow you to be personally identified.
What I don't do with your data
Explicitly, and without exception:
- I don't use it to send you advertising or unsolicited commercial communications.
- I don't subscribe you to newsletters or mailing lists.
- I don't sell, assign, rent or share it with third parties for commercial purposes.
- I don't use it for profiling or advertising targeting.
- I don't make automated decisions that could affect you.
- I don't transfer it to third-party databases or add it to marketing records.
If in the future I wished to use your data for any purpose other than replying to your message, I would ask for your express consent beforehand.
Legal basis for processing
The processing of form data is based on your consent, which you give expressly by ticking the corresponding checkbox before submitting it, and on taking steps prior to a potential services agreement, when that is the reason for your message.
The temporary processing of the IP address to prevent abuse is based on a legitimate interest in keeping the site operational and secure, and is limited to what is strictly necessary for that purpose.
The use of analytics cookies is based exclusively on your prior consent, given through the cookie notice. You can withdraw it at any time.
How long I keep it
Your message is stored in my email inbox for as long as necessary to handle your inquiry and, if it leads to a project, for the duration of the professional relationship and the legal retention period applicable to the related documentation. Once that period has elapsed, or earlier if you ask me to, I delete the message and the data it contains.
The IP address used to limit submissions is automatically discarded after a few minutes. Analytics data is kept in aggregate form according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics, which does not exceed 14 months.
Who else has access to your data
I don't share your data with third parties. I do use technical services required for the site to work, which act as data processors:
- Google (Gmail): the email service from which form messages are sent and where I receive them.
- Google Analytics: processes aggregated browsing data, only if you accepted analytics cookies.
- Hosting provider: the service hosting the site may record technical data about each request (IP address, browser, date and time) in server logs, for security and operational purposes, for the periods set out in its own policy.
International transfers. These services may process information on servers located outside Chile. Such transfers are carried out under the contractual data protection safeguards that these providers offer their users (data processing terms and standard contractual clauses).
In addition, I may be required to disclose information if a court order or a competent authority so requires under the law.
Your rights
Under Chile's Law No. 19,628 on the Protection of Private Life and Law No. 21,719, which replaces it and is scheduled to take effect in December 2026, you may exercise the following rights at any time and free of charge:
- Access: to know what data of yours I hold and how I process it.
- Rectification: to correct inaccurate or outdated data.
- Erasure: to ask me to delete your data.
- Objection: to object to a specific processing activity.
- Portability: to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
- Restriction: to restrict the use of your data in the cases permitted by law.
- Not to be subject to automated decisions. No automated decisions about you are made on this site.
To exercise them, simply write to d.moraga.tenorio@gmail.com stating which right you wish to exercise. I will respond within the time limits set by law. If you believe your request was not handled properly, you may bring the matter before the competent courts and, once it becomes operational, before the Personal Data Protection Agency (Agencia de Protección de Datos Personales).
Sensitive data and minors
I don't request or process sensitive data (health, ethnic or racial origin, ideological or religious beliefs, trade union membership, sex life, or biometric or genetic data, among others). Since the message field is free text, please do not include this kind of information in it.
This site is intended for an adult professional audience, and I do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Security
I apply reasonable technical measures, proportionate to the small volume of data I process, aimed at safeguarding its confidentiality, integrity and availability:
- The site runs entirely over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Service credentials are stored outside the source code.
- The form enforces a submission limit per IP address and includes a honeypot field for bots, and its content is sanitized before being sent by email.
- Access to the inbox where messages arrive is protected by authentication.
No system is completely infallible; should a security incident affect your data, I will take the appropriate corrective measures and comply with the notification duties established by law.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site or to applicable regulations. Any changes will be published on this same page, along with the date of the last update shown at the top of the document.
